It is worth mentioning that curtain wall is a type of glass façade that contains aluminum profiles instead of iron frames and the façade is uniform and integrated with a mixture of aluminum and glass. Curtain wall is considered as a structure. This type of façade engineering does not involve self- support hardware infrastructure and it has unlimited color diversity and application of wooden designs is also possible. This system is resistant against vertical and lateral stresses including the wind, earthquake and severe movements. Extraordinary and unique beauty of this structure in facades is its decisive advantage. The glasses applied in this system have 18-40 millimeter thickness and thermal and acoustic insulation of building is completely achieved. The beautiful and static design of this system and lack of screws and rivets in its assembly and presence of hidden drop- down in this system not only enhances its aesthetic aspect but also increases its resistance factor and provides sealing and air tight features.

Light- weighted, stiff and resistant against breakage and bending, resistant against strain, very smooth, attractive cover surface with diverse colors, resistant against corrosion, vibration, acoustic insulation, small thermal expansion and contraction coefficient, high impact resistance, delamination resistant, fire- proof, excellent torsional strength, resistant against atmospheric conditions.

P.V.D.F. aluminum composite plates

These plates are specifically designed and produced for covering external façade of buildings and they have excellent resistance against atmospheric and climatic conditions. multiple layers of this product each heated under 200-260oC temperature and two aluminum layers of panel surface encapsulate middle layer made of refractory polyethylene.

Dry stone & ceramic  

Dry stone & ceramic is one of materials mainly applied in construction of external façade of buildings. The reason is the physical and chemical characteristics of dry stone and ceramic that has made it as one of the most suitable materials for construction. Some of its features are as follows:

1)     Resistant against acid rains;

2)     Resistant against sun radiation;

3)     Suitable durability against temperature changes in different times of the year;

4)     Color diversity;

5)     Non- attraction of small particles in the environment.

Installation of dry stone and ceramic on external façade is done through two methods: dry method and grout method.

Installation of dry stone and ceramic on facades is done using stainless aluminum sheets with galvanized or steel and these sheets are designed and developed such that they don’t lose their mechanical and thermal strength over time. On the other hand, under this method the stone is not detached from the façade unexpectedly. This factor and other ones increase useful life of facades executed through dry method compared to grout- based facades. Other advantages of dry method include its installation under special atmospheric conditions, so that there is no time limitation for project completion and different climatic conditions don’t deteriorate the quality of façade. In addition to the stone and ceramic that are attached to the façade through dry method, there are installation scopes and metallic infrastructures and their recycling and reusability capacity that this advantage (environment- friendly) leads to no waste of the façade (sustainable architecture).


Concretes containing glass fibers (glass fiber reinforced concrete) are a mixture of fine particles, cement, water, chemical additives ad glass fibers. Today, glass fiber reinforced concrete is widely used in construction industry particularly façade building.

GFRC execution methods

In general there are 2 methods by which GFRC parts are produced: spraying method and pre-mixture method.

1-     Spraying method

When GFRC is used in the form of thin sections it is important that GFRC sections have uniform features in all directions of the surface. Spraying method is an effective way for achieving uniformity of features.

2-     Pre-mixture method

GFRC products are obtained by pre- mixture method by mixing cement grout and cut glass fibers in a vibrating mold.

GFRC features

Compared to the concrete produced traditionally have better features. The weight of this type of concrete is similar to common concrete. Since its bending and tensile strength is higher than that of common concrete and it does not require reinforcement grid, the thickness of sections may reach to 10 millimeter and GFRC products are widely used in construction industry. Some of GFRC significant features are as follows;

Light weight due to small thickness, flexible design, fire- proof, corrosion- proof, high bending and tensile strength compared to common concrete, high resistance against impact.

Installation on external faced

1)     Dry method: it is installed using galvanized and aluminum connections such as dry ceramic;

2)     Installation by visible connections: H.P.L. sheets are cut according to the design and they are connected to the infrastructure using special screws or rivets having same color as façade.

3)     Installation by adhesives: H.P.L. sheets are installed on the infrastructure using two types of special adhesives.


Traditionally, this architecture material was developed in the form of red and glossy rolls. The copper retains its glossy red color after being installed on the building for some period and then it gets opaque appearance and gradually a layer of oxide is developed on its surface to protect the sheet against wear. This process leads to an amazing brown color and delicate and diverse changes for copper sheet depending on light and seasonal changes. For sloped surfaces, this process leads to a sustainable green color on the copper surface. This color is an advantage for the façade and provides good protection. The sheets produced by this company go under different oxidation processes based on customers’ demands, such that brown or green sheets and other colors may be ordered by customers.

Clay like aluminum façade (RDP):

This façade is a suitable alternative to clay façade that due to its light weight and suitable cost it is usable for different building facades including in northern and southern regions. This material is produced by Turkish Asash Company supplied in different designs and colors.

Thermal break windows and facades

Windows are one of important parts of any building. Windows provide light, heat and beauty in buildings. If the window is not built or applied correctly it may be the main cause of thermal and cooling drop in cold and hot seasons. Regarding energy consumption, the windows that have higher thermal resistance are the most useful and generally thermal strength of windows depends on following factors:

1-     Type of the glass;

2-     Number of glass layers contained in the glass (single- glazed, double- glazed, etc.);

3-     Thermal strength and conductive coefficient of window frame;

4-     Sealing and air-tightness during installation.

Thermal break windows with polyamide sections have above features and they are one of the most attractive technologies of the world in glass facades of buildings which has longer life span, higher quality and efficiency compared to UPVC, etc.

Glass facades (Spider)

Application of Spider glass façade system is the most recent solution for development any type of glass surface in the buildings, whether as the main façade, false shell, separating wall and even railing.

1-     Achieving maximum transparency

Due to the high resistance and duration of a special alloy applied mainly in Spider type, the dimensions of its parts are very small compared to the load level they can bear. Moreover, due to the elimination of supporting profiles around the glass, achievement of maximum transparency for Spider shells is possible.

2-     Building weight reduction

The contribution of the weight of glass supporting parts in Spider system is negligible in relation to the area of the supported surface and this is the most important factor that provides lesser weight of building façade.

3-     Resistance against dynamic forces

Due to independent behavior of glass units in Spider system, all dynamic forces imposed on the building including the wind, earthquake, etc. on the glass shell are divided among glass sections, therefore higher resistance against dynamic forces in relation to the similar glass façade systems such as aluminum profiles is possible.

4-     Energy waste reduction

Since there is no thermal bridge between internal and external spaces, energy waste in Spider system is significantly reduced and by selecting special glass for this system, energy waste may be minimized.
